Who Is Eligible To Receive A Chemical Peel?

Chemical peels are recommended for most skin types. Mature skin, sun-damaged or dull skin will greatly benefit all skin types. Chemical peels can also be an integral part of acne care regimens.

Before Procedure Care: It is recommended to delay the use of Retin-A, Renova, Differin, Tazorac, Avage and high percentage glycolic acid products for approximately seven days prior to treatment.

What To Expect During Your Chemical Peel

Very light peels only penetrate the dead skin cells that sit on top the epidermis and produce almost no injury. Medium depth peels involve injury to the upper level of the dermis. This stimulates the formation of collagen and ‘plumps’ up the skin for noticeable results. Different chemical solutions produce different degrees of a controlled injury to the skin. Superficial peel (eg, Glycolic Acid) produces a very minimal injury effective to only the top layer of the skin. Stronger peels offer the most dramatic results but require longer periods of recovery and can be higher risk.

About AFAS

AFAs are a new, unique, and fully patented Cosmeceutical. AFAs are based on the same natural acidic amino acids that serve to retain moisture in human skin. They are also potent antioxidants an extremely helpful against photo pigmentation. They are remarkably free of irritation yet still have effective pH levels.
• AFAs unique formulation allows the peels and products to be partnered with other cosmetic procedures, including IPLs and other laser procedures.
• AFAs are only available in Canada through medical professionals and are sold in over 25 countries.

There is little irritation associated with the AFA Gels when compared to even neutralized AHA peels. This may be due to the effect of the amino group that is retained in the AFA molecule, which might modify the causticity of the AFAs without changing the overall pH of the molecule. The addition of purines to the AFA Gels also serves to reduce the chance of any potential irritation or causticity.

This treatment works to exfoliate the skin and contribute to enhancing the skin’s hydration..
