What is the hCG diet? It is a selective weight loss program using hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), a hormone that is produced naturally by women during pregnancy. This specific hormone has been linked to reducing appetite as well as increasing fat burning while maintaining muscle. The hormone is either injected or taken in pill form, when prescribed by a doctor, and the duration of the diet is monitored by medical professionals.
What makes the Selective Weight Loss with hCG Program different than just dieting? The hormones create an anabolic state rather than catabolic, meaning you build muscle rather than break it down. The hCG hormone will increase muscle building and help curb appetite. Rather than the usual effects of crash dieting, like dramatic decrease in muscle mass, your body will focus on burning excess fat.
What is the difference between taking hCG via injections versus drops? Only hCG injections have been shown to raise blood levels of hCG. Other methods are likely to be rendered ineffective once they enter the body because they evaporate before entering the blood stream. Injections are prescribed by a doctor, and you will be supervised by our Medical Team throughout your weight loss journey.
Why is blood work needed before starting the Selective Weight Loss with hCG Program? We want to ensure there are no pre-existing medical conditions that could prevent you from going on the program. Additionally, blood tests are done prior to and after the program to compare cholesterol levels, triglyceride, and blood pressure. We want to ensure you achieve healthy weight loss and are introduced to a positive lifestyle that you can maintain.
What medical conditions would prevent me from doing the Selective Weight Loss with hCG Program? Cancer, pregnancy, untreated thyroid problems and untreated diabetes will prevent you from doing the hCG diet. Additionally, breastfeeding is a contraindication to the diet.
What if I don’t reach my goal weight during the first round? You can do multiple rounds of the hCG diet, however there must be a break between each round.
How many injections do I need to receive? Treatment is approximately 40 days. When a patient has more than 15 pounds to lose, the treatment takes longer, but the maximum number of injections we give in a single course is 40. Additionally, as a rule, we do not allow patients to lose more than 34 lbs. (15 kg.) at a time, for health reasons. The treatment is stopped when either 34 lbs has been lost or 40 injections has been given. Patients who need to lose 15 pounds (7kg) or less require 26 days of treatment with 23 daily injections.
How much weight will I lose with the Selective Weight Loss with hCG Program? Most hCG dieters report a 1-2 Ibs loss per day. It is important to note that you will be under the direct supervision of an EC medical professional during the program, as your health is the utmost importance.
Will I gain the weight back after the hCG diet? After the hCG diet, not only will you have lost significant weight as well as maintained important muscle tone, you will have modified your eating habits as well. This change in diet will ensure a smooth transition into being fit and living a healthier lifestyle.
