Eveline Charles entered into the hair industry in 1974 and ten years later, opened her first salon, Bianco Nero, in Edmonton, Alberta. Blessed with creative flair and an innate business sense, Eveline quickly established Bianco Nero as the city's premier beauty salon. In 1995, Eveline seized the opportunity to be at the forefront of the day spa movement and expanded her salon to include a full-service spa; by 1998, a second Bianco Nero salon and spa was opened in West Edmonton Mall. 

During this time, Eveline stepped out from behind the salon chair to focus entirely on developing her business. In 1999, Eveline was faced with a difficult decision - in order to expand her business into other markets and develop product lines she would need to change the name of the company. The existing Bianco Nero locations were re-branded EvelineCharles^TM Salons • Spas in 1999.  

By 2001, two new locations were opened in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta and 2002 launched the first location outside of Alberta, in Vancouver, British Columbia. In 2005, two more facilities were opened in Calgary, Alberta as well as the EvelineCharles^TM Academy of Cosmetology and Esthetics in Edmonton, Alberta, which offers diplomas in Cosmetology (hair) and Esthetics (skin). The EvelineCharles^TM Academy, at 26,000 square feet, is the one of the largest schools of its kind in Canada. In 2006, the company opened another salon and spa in Kelowna, BC. By 2010, EvelineCharles^TM opened another Academy in Vancouver, BC, which is 7000 sq. feet, housing state of the art equipment for stylists and estheticians.

To meet the challenges of successful growth, EvelineCharles^TM knew it had to meet two needs: offering outstanding services and products and equally as important, retaining loyal employees. EvelineCharles^TM was one of the first in the industry to change from commission-based remuneration to staff skill-based wage system. 

EvelineCharles^TM wanted to provide staff the stability of a steady pay cheque, heath benefits and instill the spirit of teamwork. Incorporating this wage pay structure also allowed for a payroll budget to be set.   To satisfy the demands of an ever-growing well-educated beauty clientele, EvelineCharles^TM has collaborated with international experts to create exclusive product lines in body care, cosmetics, hair care, hair color, nail care and styling tools. In 2007, EvelineCharles^TM launched a comprehensive skincare line and now looks towards the launch of a new hair care line.   

EvelineCharles^TM is recognized internationally as an industry leader and entrepreneurial success story. With the aim to grow the business to a full circle operation, the company is adding a distribution centre to become compete in all areas of the beauty business; research and development, manufacturing, distribution, service and retail locations.
