Edmonton businesswoman, in her own words...

Charles is CEO and founder of EvelineCharles Salon│ Spa │Beauty MD, a multimillion-dollar corporation that is also active in the community.

1) It's Sunday morning, what are you having for breakfast? If I run it's a protein shake and fruit or if we're at home a family Sunday breakfast it's bacon and eggs.

2) If you didn't do what you do for a living, what would you be? I would be involved in fashion design or own a chain of clothing stores. I also could have worked with interior design.

3) Who's your hero? Warren Buffet and other successful business leaders. I love business, it is my drive in life. It always continues to excite me.

4) Twitter or Facebook? Social media is a very important tool in the hair and beauty industry, I've learned to understand both.

5) Dogs or cats? I like pets, but are not for me.

6) What's playing in your ipod (CD, cassette or eight-track) right now? My son Taylor is a DJ so I listen to some of his and a variety of other music. I love all kinds.

7) If you could see one concert, what would it be? I already had the opportunity to see the ones I really wanted to see; Pavarotti, Eagles and The Rolling Stones.

8) What's the best thing about Edmonton? Being born and raised in the small French community of Falher, Alberta, I am now most proud to call myself an Edmotonian. I appreciate the culture of government, education, festivals and events it hosts year-round with plenty of opportunity for business venture and growth. I also love how Edmonton has a great fashion sense.

9) What's the one gadget you can't live without? My Nespresso Citiz & Milk Espresso Machine and my built in Miele Coffee Machine.

10) Book or video game? Book/magazine.

11) What's your favourite restaurant in Edmonton? I have many, but because I have a family our favorite places are Cactus Club, Joeys and Earls.

12) What's your culinary specialty? Thai, Italian and French food.

13) Where do you like to vacation? I look forward to the chance when I can escape to my home in San Carlos, Mexico on the beach of the beautiful Sea of Cortez.

14) How do you take your Tim Hortons? I prefer Second Cup in City Centre Mall.

15) Who's the funniest person you know? My cousin Loraine and my President, Lina.

16) What's your dream car? Bentley Continental

17) What is your proudest moment? Seeing the evolution of my business grow to a full circle operation, complete in all areas of the beauty business; research and development, manufacturing, distribution, education (Academy) service and retail locations. Also, have had two boys. I love family life.

18) What's the one thing you haven't done that you'd love to do? An around the world trip.

20) What are your words to live by?

Driven by the words of my favorite poem, "Think big and your deeds will grow" (The Winner.)
