FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE EvelineCharles Academy Students Place Top 10 in EDMONTON, ALBERTA (January 3, 2012) -The top 10 finalists for this year's annual Sassoon Academy School Connection (SASC) Cut and Color Competition have been announced. And from Edmonton, Alta., EvelineCharles Cosmetology (hair design) students take five of the final top 10 contestant spots. The first, second and third place winners will be announced by Sassoon Academy and their industry partner, Nuts and Bolts Training Company on Sunday, January 30 at the awards ceremony at the International Salon and Spa Expo (ISSE) conference in Long Beach, Calf. (Jan. 28-30, 2012). "Rarely is Alberta labeled as a trendsetting destination in the International hairstyling world, and we couldn't be more thrilled that our Cosmetology students at EvelineCharles Academy are changing that perception by captivating this international attention," says David Son, marketing and admissions director, EvelineCharles. "The students have proudly put Edmonton on the map and we're honoured to be recognized by the world- renowned Creative team at Sassoon Academy." To gain entry, 166 contest hopefuls submitted before and after photos of their best work, 12 of which were from EvelineCharles Academy Edmonton. Each submission was anonymously analysed by the Sassoon Academy Creative Team, and only 10 met the strict Sassoon standards. From there, the finalists fly from across North America to Long Beach to learn if they'll receive the prominent top three spots along with enviable cash and educational prizes from Sassoon. "We're also excited to send 125 of our EvelineCharles students from both our Edmonton and Calgary Academy to this year's ISSE- flight and accommodation we proudly include in our tuition for cosmetology and esthetics," says Son. "Students will take part in the most relevant shopping, networking and educational experience available in the industry today at the biggest beauty exposition and educational event on the West Coast. With Private Sassoon Technical Performances for Cosmetology students, and a Dermalogica tour in Los Angeles, Calif. for Esthetics students, this competition and trip has been a highlight of our full-time, one-year education students for the past four years."
