Kim McIver, Academy Director of Business Development
Kim McIver has spent 15 years building a successful career in the salon and spa industry. She began as an Esthetician who specialized client care and retail sales, and then transitioned seamlessly to a position as a Salon Sales Representative, where she spent 6 years honing her relationship building skills and her industry knowledge, for the last 3 years she has lead a dynamic team of training professionals as the Division Director for EvelineCharles Academies.

Kim is a driven professional who is passionate about relationship building, industry relations, and admissions and marketing. She is responsible for operations, admissions, marketing and strategic business development for the EvelineCharles Academies in Vancouver, British Columbia; Edmonton, Alberta; and the soon-to-be opened Calgary campus. Amber Guerin, Academy Operations Director
Amber Guerin's passion for skin care and make up began at an early age and has guided her into an 11-year career within the esthetics industry.  Her journey, which has included positions as day spa manager and freelance make up artist, has been self-described as "well-rounded and rewarding".  As the current Eveline Charles esthetics program director, Amber finds that the most challenging and rewarding part of her job lies in education.  She also leads the Nuts and Bolts business program at EC Academy, which prepares students to become industry leaders in esthetics and cosmetology. "Of all my experiences within the industry, the most inspiring has been as an educator," Amber enthuses. "I am honoured to work with so much young talent on a daily basis."

Bonnie Belzevick, Admissions Leader

Bonnie Belzevick, Admissions Leader
Bonnie Belzevick has been with Eveline Charles just shy of a two years, but has been actively involved in the beauty industry for a quarter of a century.  Make up, skincare, modeling and education have all been hallmarks of her illustrious career.  Bonnie's respect for Eveline Charles herself motivated her to become a member of the EC Academy Admissions team. "Her vision for the future is something I truly wanted to be a part of," Bonnie enthuses. "Eveline Charles encompasses the values and ethics I value in a company." Before joining Eveline Charles Academy, Bonnie worked in the education system for almost a decade.  Her desire to combine her deep love for the beauty industry and her experience in the field of education is what fuels her career today. "To see the growth and passion within a student from start to finish refuels my soul daily," Bonnie says. "It's rewarding knowing you've helped make a difference in someone's life."

Sonja Nash, Government Relations Representative & Admissions Advisor
Sonja Nash has only been with EvelineCharles since 2009 but her beauty industry career has already taken flight.  Her strong organizational skills and a respect for education motivated Sonja to seek employment with the Academy and since then, she's worked in variety of capacities for the school.  As the Academy's Government Relations Representative, Sonja has become well-versed in licensing, accreditation and all government-based programs for the three academies, including the Apprenticeship Program. "I really enjoy guiding the students through their program," Sonja says. "I love to implement new ideas."  Additionally, Sonja has taught and organized the Academy's Beauty Boot Camp, a summer camp for girls ages 11-15.  During this week-long sojourn, girls learn all about looking and feeling their best, not only through beauty aids but also through healthy self-esteem and self-awareness.  She believes her natural ability to lend an ear and a sturdy work ethic makes her a natural leader for the camp - and for the Academy.  "Working in this industry has been amazing," Sonja says. "I've learned so much for myself and others."

Jessica Robertson, Cosmetology Instructor & Sassoon Team Leader

Jessica Robertson, Cosmetology Instructor & Sassoon Team Leader
Jessica Robertson has been a hairstylist for 13 years, but you could say she's been in the hair industry since birth.  Her mother has been working in the field for over 20 years and Jessica grew up learning the tools of the trade.  Hungry for a formal education, Jessica embarked upon school - simultaneously training at Marvel and attending a six-month Advanced Cutting program at the Aveda Academy.  Jumping in with both feet helped her to refine a natural talent into a marketable skill, and after obtaining her license, Jessica still wasn't done educating herself.  She was asked to train with Schwarzkopf's Essential Looks cutting team in Montreal after attending a Mekka Master Cutting Class in Toronto.  Inspired by the wealth of talent displayed by Canadian haistylists and after being introduced to sharing her knowledge with others via public speaking, Jessica returned to the salon and realized her new passion: Teaching.  In 2002, that passion brought her to Eveline Charles Academy as an instructor.
Jessica is also a fierce competitor within her industry and has placed high honours in Battle of the Salons, Hairapalooza, Skills Canada and three Top 10 of Alberta Hairstylist of the Year in Contessa's.  Most recently, she attended a 2-week extensive training course at the prestigious Sassoon Academy.  All of Jessica's hard work and dedication has paid off in her new role as a Director for Eveline Charles Academy.  "Seeing my students succeed in their dreams and goals bring me much pride," Jessica says. "It gives me great satisfaction."

Lisa Martins, Cosmetology Instructor
A 2000 graduate of Marvel College, Lisa Martins has packed quite a bit into her 11 years of industry experience.  She began her two-year apprenticeship at the tender age of 18 , joined Wella International and participated in various competitions to hone her creative edge, including the IBS Hairshow Across Canada (4 years) and the Sassoon Long Beach Competition Sassoon Instructor Leader (where her students garnered 5 of the top 10 prizes, placing 2nd and 3rd in all of North America).  Lisa has also been a leader of Edmonton Fashion Week for 3 years running.  Lisa became the first-ever Canadian Sassoon Connection instructor after beginning her Sassoon training in 2008 and has been a Sassoon Leader for EvelineCharles Academy for the last two years.  She is also a senior stylist at the Edmonton City Centre Eveline Charles Salon location.

Jaclyn Loshaw, Esthetics Instructor
Jaclyn graduated from Marvel in 2004 with a certification in Esthetics. After 6 years in the permanent cosmetics field, she joined the EvelineCharles Academy in February 2010. Jaclyn's eye for detail and extensive knowledge of cosmetics and artificial nails have not only enhanced our program but our student experience as well. Jaclyn enjoys all aspects of teaching and loves to see the students grow into industry professionals.

Tetyana Dryholya, Alberta Apprenticeship Instructor
Tetyana Dryholya left her native Ukraine in 2000, armed with a passion for hair and fashion, plus a strong determination to make that passion a career reality.  When she landed in Canada, Tetyana set her sights on a diploma at Yorkdale ALC College in Toronto and became licensed in 2003.  She worked tirelessly in a high-end salon for six years before an opportunity to teach within the walls of Eveline Charles Academy came knocking.

Tetyana's love for education has also taken to the stage, where she took part in the 2002 ABA Show with the Matrix Team.  Launching the revolutionary new techniques in red highlights remains an exciting moment in the future educator's career.

"The decision to teach came from my knowledge, past experiences and a love for the industry," Tetyana says. "To share my experiences and be part of students growing and excelling is truly exciting."
