Education Information

Requirements:
(Alberta High School Diploma or Non-Alberta Equivalent* 50% or better in Grade 12 English)

Mature and ESL Student Admission Requirements (Student does not fit the criteria above)
Thirty-three credits toward Alberta High School Diploma (verified by transcript) with 50% or higher in Grade 10 English and 50% or higher in a Grade 10 Math or non-Alberta equivalent. Note: An aptitude test will be administered by the Academy. The potential student must obtain a successful result on the test.

Application Requirements for Submission

The Admissions Advisor will require a formal interview as part of the admissions process. Prior to the formal interview date please forward the following TWO (2) items to the Academy address as indicated on the front page:

1) Letter of intent
2) One Original Letter of Reference

Instructions on how to write an Applicant's Letter of Intent

Please submit a 300 - 500 word essay on why you feel you should be selected as a student by the Admissions Advisor at the EvelineCharles Academy. Your essay will be used as a basis for discussion during your acceptance interview with the Admissions Advisor. Your letter should include items pertaining to:

• How long have you been considering taking this program?
• Why you want to pursue a career in this area?
• How did you hear about the EvelineCharles Academy?
• Reference to one other like institution that you have visited (another school that offers similar program) and why you are selecting this Academy as your choice of study.
• What personal characteristics do you possess that will make you successful in this field?
• Are there any issues that you are aware of that might prevent you from finishing your program once you commence your studies?

 

In addition, once an Admissions Advisor has set up an interview with you, please assemble the following items which must be presented at the time of your interview:

• Official Grade 12 High School Transcript or GED
• Official Transcript of Post Secondary Studies (if applicable)
• Proof of Age - Birth Certificate - photocopy will be taken
• One Piece of photo ID (Driver's License or Passport)
• Social Insurance Card - photocopy will be taken
• Application fee of $500.00
