Academy Director

Location EvelineCharles Academy, Downtown Edmonton

Job Description
Duties

Provide leadership and operational direction for the EvelineCharles Academy, a premiere school for Cosmetology and Esthetics Studies. To develop and maintain operating systems and procedures that support the Academy objectives and comply with all regulatory requirements. 
 
Management Responsibilities
  • Hiring of management, teachers and administrative staff for the school.
  • Accountable for the performance and conduct of management, teachers and administrative staff.  
  • Provide coaching to increase individual productivity, and to provide a career path.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations for management, teachers and administrative staff.
  • Prepare and facilitate meetings with your team as required. Attend monthly EvelineCharles corporate meetings.
  • Consistently working on increasing quality of service delivered to all clients in conjunction with the 20 Basics of Excellence.
 
Government Relationships
  • Government relations in regards to program funding, bursaries, and the Apprentiship Board.
  • Remain current on Department of Education regulatory requirement changes and financing options. Ensure compliance at every level.
  • Oversee Financial Aid Administration insuring compliance with regulatory requirements, school policies, procedures and objectives.
  • Strategies on meeting Corporate Objectives such as revenue and recruitment.
  • Develop and implement systems and procedures to support our policies.
 Recruitment & Marketing
  • Oversee the process of lead development, recruitment, enrollment, financing, registration, and placement of students.
  • Oversee recruitment and enrollments.
  • Strategies on building salon clientele, work with Marketing Director to promote available services and products.
  • Build Relationships with other salons for career placement.
  • Formulate incentive programs to entice all top students to want to work for EvelineCharles.

Skills
Education
  • Passionate and fashion-forward individual who possesses outstanding leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment while managing a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively and appropriately interact with studenclients and location staff.
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
  • Experience in preparing Government proposals
  • Post-secondary education.
